Dear brothers and sisters...
Gabriel Al Romaani for The Daily Reminder.
Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, 'Be in this dunya as if you would be a stranger. Yes a stranger or just a pass byer, just a traveller.
Now brothers and sisters if we analyse the life of Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam as how did he live? How did he, you know, interact? What did he take from this dunya?
We will find that he was a stranger.
When he came up with this message of Islam, the Quraish, the people around him considered him strange.
This was Ghareeb.
Today if you want to practice Islam, if you want to grow your beard, you want to wear hijab, you Niqab, whatever it might be...you are a stranger. (relevant scenes)
People look at you weird!
And Subahan Allah some of us let this affect us.
You know we feel that Subahan Allah we should integrate that our societies, and don't get me wrong, please do not miss quote me, do not get me wrong!
I am not saying we go against things.
But there are things that go against Islam that we should go against.
And this is our measure stick in Shariah.
It's not the people's whims!
It's not the culture of people!
It's what....
This is what our measuring stick our brother and sisters.
So we need to understand that it's okay to be a stranger.
Actually it is good to be a stranger.
This dunya is the jail. (people time-lapse)
This dunya is the jail of the believer.
And it's paradise for the disbeliever.
The believer feels restricted why because he has to abide by the laws of Allah SWT.
He has to be strict!
Of course!
I am not saying to go to extremes.
But you will find that within the political, within the social, economic environment that we live in today...the ethics and morals that are dictated to us today...you will find that a practicing Muslim will find his heart being constricted!
Will find so much fitna and sin around them that they will feel bad!
They will feel that they are in a jail.
Good news!
Good news brothers and sisters.
If you are a stranger, good news!
Because the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam gave you glad tidings.
He Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam says, 'Islam started something strange.' Muhammad (SAW) comes and he sits on the hill and he says, 'Allah is one and he is the messenger of Allah. And the punishment is coming' and people are saying all kinds of things...
So on and so forth as Abu Lahab did.
They are ostracizing him.
He is a stranger!
He is weird!
Like today we are weird!
People wanna fight him, people wanna push him.
They wanna label him.
They are gonna make portrait against him
Guess what!
News, media, always...
Muslims this! Muslims that!
Serious, extremists and so on!
Always against putting the pressure...!
Glad tidings says, 'it started something strange' as in Prophet Sallellahu Alaihe wa sallam 'and it will returns as something strange. Give glad tidings for the strangers.'
Yes, we are proud to be strangers!
Yes we are proud that people look at us and they say, 'what is this guy doing?'
If people look at you and they think you are an extremist or whatever, you know that's bad for them.
We are not extremists.
No!
But we are proud...we are proud for this deen.
We are proud to say that we know what's haram and what's halal!
We know what to abstain from and we know what to do.
And this is Islam!
Be proud dear brothers and sisters!
Don't let the pressure and all the negative things affect you.
Stand strong and firm for your deen.
Be proud that you are a Muslim!
Be proud that you are a Muslim!
Be in this dunyia as the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam says, as a stranger, as a traveller brothers and sisters.
This life is short.
Be as a traveller!
This is The Daily Reminder...
