Anger Management : Islamic Advice

One important thing that I have been witnessing lately is that people are unable to manage their anger! Now it's like they have short temper or something or it's because they can't have their cigarette or their coffee, so they just release their anger, and become very furious at you and make you feel like it's the end of the world. Allahu Akbar!

Now how can we solve this issue? We can solve this issue by knowing that when you do not control your anger at Ramadan, what happens? You are wounding your fast up. I am not saying that it's not accepted, it may be accepted but you are wounding it up just like you are bringing a man and you start smacking him around until he has bruises all over his face and you can see the blood everywhere and all that. Same thing with fasting!

Okay, now if this is a problem then there must be a solution! The solution is to follow the tools of the Prophet Alayhi salatu wa salam! The Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) Muhammad, he gave us tools, he gave us ways to deal with anger, to manage anger! And one way is to say, 'A'uju billahi minash Shaytanir Rajim' 'I seek refuge with Allah from the devil.'

As soon as you get angry, when you see somebody coming to you using bad language or saying that, 'your wife is a so and so' or 'your mother is so and so' and you get really furious, you remember that time in 2006 World Cup when Zidan head-butted that person, you remember that because that man came to him and said, 'your mom! Your mom! Your mom!' but then you calm down and you remember the Prophet Alyhi Salatu wa salam, what he said and what he prescribed us as a medication. When you are angry, if you are standing up, sit down! And if you are sitting down, lie down! When you are angry, if you are standing up and you are still angry, sit down! And if you are still angry when you are sitting down, lie down! This was stated by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it is one effective way to deal with anger. Deal with it! Deal with anger! Don't escape from it! If you are angry, you can let other people know you are angry, it's okay. You have to acknowledge your anger and you have to tell yourself, 'Okay, now I am angry, what should I do?' And you say, "Aujubillah minash Shaytanir rajim" and you follow the path of Prophet Alaihe salatu wa salam the tools that he shared with us. This way you will be on the safe side and your fasting will not get wounded. In fact, it will be like really clear and clean and it will be something accepted from the Almighty Allah Azaau jal in full! You want it fully accepted from Allah then manage your anger and be straight with Allah!

The Prophet Alaihe salatu wa sallam also said, 'The strong person isn't that person who is able to wrestle everybody, the strong person is that person who is able to manage his anger during the difficult times.' During the difficult times, he is able to manage his anger. He is able to hold it in and not release it. He holds it in a positive way! Not in a negative way, not denying that he is angry. You know that you are angry and you hold it in and you release it positively. In a smooth way, possibly with a smile or something. This way you are the strong person.

Erase All Your Sins

Asalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu...

The month of Ramadhan is the month of forgiveness... The messenger of Allah salallahu alayhi wasalam said... 'Whoever fasts the month of Ramadhan with true faith in Allah subhana wa ta'ala and also seeking
the reward from Allah subhana wa ta'ala alone will have all his sins be forgiven for.' And so there's so many opportunities to have our sins be forgiven for during this month and so this is the month of repentance and if you're not going to repent during this month... When the shayateen are shackled up, when are you going to repent?

The opportunities are there... Whoever fasts for the sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala will have all his previous sins be forgiven for... And the messenger of Allah salallahu alayhi wasalam also said... 'Whoever stands up in prayer in Ramadhan...believing in Allah subhana wata'ala, having faith in Allah subhana wa ta'ala seeking the reward from Allah subhana wa ta'ala alone will have all his sins be forgiven for.' And after all of that Allah still gives us another opportunity, just in case you were negligent in those other two aspects... The messenger of Allah salallahu alayhi wasalam said... 'Whosoever fasts the month of..or..whosoever stands up to do worship Allah subhana wa ta'ala or worships Allah subhana wa ta'ala during the night of Layla tul Qadr will have all his previous sins be forgiven for.' And so opportunity after opportunity... If you are not going to repent during this month, ask yourself when are you going to do it...?

Fasting Your Seatbelt

Do you think everybody, every Muslim fasts in Ramadan? No! Not every Muslim fast and not every Muslim reads the Quran. They pretend may be. But only very few people do that. And if Allah Azaau zal blessed you and allowed you to do that then you are one of those chosen people whom Allah Azaau zal has chosen. The Prophet Sallellahu Alahihe wa Sallam said, according to Abu Hurairrah, 'When Ramadan comes, the gates of the hell fire close, and the gates of paradise open up.'

The Gates of the hell fire close and the gates of the paradise open up. So this means that a chance, the gates of paradise are open up for you, is a chance for you to enter paradise for eternity where you will not suffer any pains, where you will not be tortured, where you will not even get a headache. Allahu Akbar! In paradise, you will not get a headache; In paradise, you will not bleed; In paradise, do you know, the lowest level of paradise, the lowest level of paradise is ten times better than everything in this world. Do you know the last man to enter paradise, the last man to enter Jannah, he gets to have ten times of what is in this world. Allahu Akbar!

That is from the graces of Allah! That's the last man to enter paradise. That means, that that is a man who did really bad but he had that belief in Allah, so that Allah allowed him in paradise but he was like the last person due to his bad deeds. Imagine you were the first person. Of course you can't be the first person. The first person will be the Prophet Muhammad Sallellahu alahihe wa Sallam! But imagine of you are with him, with that group, with the Sahabis, with the tabein, with the salaf (righteous predecessors) who will enter the paradise immediately. Imagine you were with them! Then you will earn a high grade in paradise.

Only and if you only, fast in Ramadan and you read the Quran and you pray Quiamullei and you have that sincere intention in your heart, you are doing this for the Almighty Allah Azaau zal, you are not doing it to playing games. You are doing it to show off and of course Allah Azaau zal said, 'All the deeds of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting, it is for me!' It is for the Almight Allah. When you fast, when you fast, you are fasting for Allah, this deed is for the Almighty Allah Azaau zal. When you pray, it's for you. When you read the Quran, when you give charity, it's for you. But when you fast, it is for the Almighty Allah Azaau zal.

Why? Because you are guaranteed to be sincere when you are fasting. You are not showing off, you are doing it for yourself, you are not telling the people, "hey I am fasting", because even if you are showing off and telling the people, 'hey I am fasting", then you could hide behind the bushes and have a drink and eat and go and live your life but no you chose to do it for the Almighty Allah. So what is the message of this talk, the message of this talk is that you should have sincerity in this Ramadan and fast with that good intention and you should make sure that you recite list the Quran once or twice. You recited once or twice and I ask Allah Azaau zal to accept that from you and I. May Allah grant us sincerity! Thank you very much for listening!

Ramadan - Tricks Of Shaytaan

Asalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

We're talking about the tricks of shaytaan in the month of Ramadhan...  Now as I've been talking about before, yes the shayateen are tied up but the influence of shaytaan is still there... And sometimes it's our own nafs that can cause us to commit sins so don't let shaytaan convince you that you cannot commit sins or you cannot make mistakes in the month of  Ramadhan... Now, one of the common tricks of shaytaan is when it comes to the food or how much we eat because shaytaan knows he cannot stop you from worshipping Allah subhana wa ta'ala when it comes to your fasting... You're already fasting, you're not eating for the whole day and he's lost..that's a defeat for shaytaan... So he will try to get to you through the door of eating a lot, so that when you do worship Allah you're lazy in your worship and so you'll see subhanAllah it's very common that someone might have a huge iftaar... And because of that their maghrib prayer or their isha prayer, their taraweeh prayer is very..they're very lazy in that prayer and they don't have kushoo or they don't have concentration and they may be like burping upon people around them and nobody's trying to smell any of that... But the point here is that shaytaan will convince you to eat a lot, so good practise in sh Allah  ta'ala is to have a light iftaar and maybe if you are going to have like a full proper meal... Have it after taraweeh, after you're done... Even then eating..don't eat too much because obviously it's gonna be a problem when it comes to getting up for suhoor, right? And as we know shaytaan, subhanAllah sometimes can get us to skip suhoor... We sleep really late, we have a big meal at night, we tell ourselves you know "I don't have  time to get up for suhoor, it's not really that important as longs as I fast." And subhanAllah we know that the suhoor as the prophet salallah alaihi wasalam he said... He said 'Have suhoor' because there is barakah, there is blessings from Allah subhana wa ta'ala in this suhoor... So it's one of the sunnah of the prophet salallah alaihi wasalam to have suhoor and so if you have a light meal, if you get you know a decent amount of rest... You can get up in the morning, eat the suhoor, even if it is a light suhoor... Maybe it's glass of water and a couple of cookies, whatever it is... But the barakah of waking up in the morning and having that suhoor... Alhamdulilah as you  bring the barakah in to your life...You are able to defeat shaytaan and the influence of shaytaan more and more... We ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala to make us victorious against the plots and the plans and  the deception of shaytaan... Allah humma ameen... Until next time, In sh Allah ta'ala...

Dua & Ramadan 2014

Rasoolullah Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam said in an authentic Hadith, 'three kinds of people when they make dua to Allah, their dua is surely not rejected. Number one: the one who makes dua when they're about to break their fast. Number two: the just ruler making dua. Number three: the du'a of a person who has been oppressed.' And he, Rasoolullah Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam, and don't forget to say Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam, he said, and I love this Hadith; the Prophet is stressing. He says, basically, '(form here) the one who has been fasting and breaks their fast, that time when they make dua to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, Allah will surely accept it and not reject it.'

What a golden opportunity that we don't want to miss! Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, brothers and sisters, appreciates it at the pinnacle, and the climax of your hunger, of your weakness, of your tiredness, and the food is being presented here and there, and you actually remember Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, and you make du'a to him during that time right around Athan, Maghrib Athan, and you're about to break your fast, and make du'a to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Allah appreciates that and Allah tells you, 'you make dua at that time, I will accept it and I will not reject it;' Allahu Akbar. Some people may ask, brother, what time exactly should I make du'a to get this golden opportunity? The Ulama, many of them have said there is room for it. So, some have said you can make dua a few minutes before the Athan of Maghrib comes in, and some say you can make that dua after Athan, after your Iftar; you break your fast then you can make your dua and may Allah accept it whatever time suits you best (form here). Brothers and sisters, from the Sunnah of Rasoolullah Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam, he used to make a specific du'a during that time when he was about to break his fast. He used to say, 'the thirst is gone, the arteries have been moist, and the reward is confirmed, is by sure, by the will of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.'

Brothers and sisters, be optimistic like Rasoolullah Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam, and follow the Sunnah, and make that du'a, and add whatever you wish, so don't be so distracted before Athan time with all the food. Rather, seize the moment and make du'a during that precious time; take a few minutes aside, praise Allah and ask Allah for all your needs and don't forget to hook it up; make dua for me and the whole Daily Reminder team and so on.

How You Can Beat The Martyr To Paradise!

Talha Bin UbaidAllah, a very righteous companion, he had a dream. In that dream he saw himself, he says, 'I was in front of the gates of jannah (paradise) and I saw these two people that became Muslim and then an angel came out of jannah and admitted the one who died later into jannah first. Then the angel came outside and admitted the one who was martyred in the dunya (this world) second.' Then angel came for the third and last time and told me, Talha, irji' (you go back), your time has not come yet.'

Talha woke up and he was so shocked, so amazed. He started telling people about the dream which he had. He went to Rasoolullahi (Sallallaahu Alayhiwasallam). Don't forget (to say) Sallallaahu Alayhiwasallam, no matter how many times you hear his beautiful name, (Sallallaahu Alayhiwasallam). The Prophet told him, 'ya Talha, why are you amazed.' He said 'ya Rasoolullahi, a shaheed (a martyr) such a high status, he goes to jannah after the regular man who died only one year later. SubhanAllah, how is it possible Rasoolullah?' He is not complaining from Allah. He is just wondering. He wants to know what is it that he (the second person) has done that made him go to jannah first, because he has high dreams and ambitions and hope. So he will for sure, InshaAllah, pursue whatever that man did so he can go to jannah first.

The Prophet says, 'Talha are you amazed?' He says 'yes!' and he explains why. The Prophet asked him a question and look at the beautiful answer. He said, 'ya Talha, didn't that man who died later witness one more year than the martyr.' He said, 'bala (yes).' He siad, sallallaahoalaihi wasallam, said 'therefore didn't that man witness the month of ramadan and he prayed more.' 'Bala (yes) ya rasool Allah.' He said, rasool Allah Sallallaahu Alayhiwasallam said, 'due to that witnessing of Ramadan and praying more, the difference between him and the martyr is like the difference between the heavens (spelling) and the earth.' SubhanAllah. You know, how much hope it gives me when I was preparing this talk and I hope it gives you as well. That one Ramadan can take you beyond the shaheed, can take you beyond the one who has the whole Quran memorized if you come to Allah with sincerity.

Dua To Get The Prophet's Help

Rasool allahi salallahu alayhi wa sallam said in a authentic hadith of sahih al bukhari, Whoever says the following, after hearing the call of adhan, the call of prayer, what do we say?

Allahumma Rabba hadhihi-d-da' watit-tammati- Oh Allah, the Lord of this perfect call was-salatil qa'imati,- and the lord of the prayer that is about to be established, ati Muhammadan alwasilata wal-fadilata,- oh Allah, grant Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alayhi wa sallam) al waseela..al waseela is that location in jannah which the Prophet already said in other hadith that's authentic. Al waseela is a location where only one person can enter. A very noble place!

May allah grant prophet Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam, to be that one person that enters it. Amen rab ul 'alameen and afterwards we say, wab' athhu maqaman mahmudan-il-ladhi wa' adtahu -- oh Allah grant the Prophet Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam, Resurrect him with that status, that is so praise worthy, which you have already promised.

What's that status? What rasool allahi salallahu alayhi wa sallam intercedes for all of the beings, for yawm al qiyamah to begin... Allahu Akbar! The prophet said, whoever recites that du;a, One more time, Allahumma Rabba hadhihi-d-da' watit-tammati was-salatil qa'imati, ati Muhammadan alwasilata wal-fadilata, wab' athhu maqaman mahmudan-il-ladhi wa' adtahu. What will happen?

Hallat lahu shafa'at yawm al qiyamah,

'I will intercede for them yawm al qiyamah(the day of judgement).'

Allahu akbar!

Escape Back To Allah!

A young man and an old man came together and they went for Hajj and as soon as they were embarking to go for Hajj, the old man said, 'Labbayk Allah Humma Labbayk.' As he said that, the young man heard a voice, 'Wa La Labbayk wa La Sa'adayk' meaning that this niyyah of Hajj was not accepted. That this old man's Hajj is rejected. So the young man was very very surprised, he said, 'O Uncle! Did you not hear this voice?' So the uncle said, the old man (the haaji) said, 'Yes! I heard it my Son, I heard It! I've been hearing this voice for 40 years, I've been doing Hajj for 40 years and every time I say, 'Labbayk Allah Humma Labbayk' I hear that rejection, I hear that voice telling me 'Wa La Labbayk Wa La Sa'adayk.'' That basically the Hajj is rejected and the young man was surprised, he says, 'O uncle, and you still insist in making Hajj? You still want to make Hajj for this?' And the old man said, 'O My son, think about this, think about this my son, is there any escape from Allah s.w.t., other than to Allah?' Meaning, if Allah rejects you, if Allah s.w.t. does not accept something, because of some fault, some shortcoming, some sin. Is there any other way, other than to Allah? Meaning can you escape from Allah other than back to Allah? You know there are things which we fear in our lives. We have things that we run away from in our lives. Every one of you, Brother, Sister, you have something that in your life, you fear and you wanna escape from. Akhi, Ukhti, where are you gonna escape from, from Allah s.w.t., other than to Allah? Allahu Akbar. There's nowhere else to go, except to making Tawbah to him. Except to repenting to him. Except to coming back to him.
