What Are You Waiting For?

"Look At What Has Happened, Last Year You Had Super Storm Sandy, On The Side Of The Beach, The Sea People Blown Away, Washed Away. Few Days Ago Tornados Ohklahoma, Tell Me, What Power Could Stop That? You Could Live By The Sea, You Could Live In The Middle Of The Land, We Dont Know Where We Could Be, And What Could Happen, Allah Is Only Proven To The World That He Is In Control, This Is A Sign For Us To Learn, Why Dont We Put Allahs Priority In Our Life? Our Salah, Our Charity, Our Hajj, Our Fasting, Our Islam,

Let Us Do What Is Good, We Could Be Anywhere You Cant Stop A Hurricane, We Cant Stop The Tornados, I Always Say, America Is One Of The Most Sophisticated Country In The World, They Cant Stop A Hurricane & Tornado Look At The Innocent People, My Heart Goes Out For Them but Thats One Situation But What Are We Doing To Change Our Life? Are We Waiting For The Hurricane To Come and Knock Us Off? And We Lose The Homes and The Wifes and The Children, Then Start Crying? and Then Start To Read Quran Everyday? And Then Start To Pray Everyday? and Then Start To Give Charity Feesabililah? What Are We Waiting For?

From Dust You Were Created - To Dust You Will Return!

"This Is The Reality of This Life, No Matter Who You Are and How Big You Are, In The End, We're All Going To The Same Black Hole (The Grave)".

"Kullu Nafsin Za Iqatul Mauth, Every Soul Will Taste Death, If You Want To Know The Reality Of This Life, Then Go Into The Grave Yard, Go and Look At Those Desolate Graves, Go and See Who Is Buried There, The Same Politicians and The Same Governor and The Same Minister and The Same Ruler, Who When He Used To Walk, People Would Say: Move Out Of His Way, Somebody Great Has Come, When He Would Move, He Would Move In A Limousines, What Is His Situation Today? His Body Has Become The Food Of Insects and Those Insects Have Been Eaten by Other Insects.

Understand The Reality Of This Life That Mauth (Death) Is Coming, Everyday That Kabr (Grave) Is Calling Out: I Am The Home Of Insects, Loneliness, Worms, Darkness. Prepare Yourself Before You Come To Me Everyone Of Us Will Have To Give Account In The Court Of Allah, How Much Longer Are We Going To Revel In This Worldly Life? Does Insaan Think It Is Just This Life and It Ends Here? NO!!! Oh People, The Promise If Allah Is Haq (True) What Promise? From Dust You Were Created, To Dust You Will Return and Once Again WE WILL RESURRECT YOU Oath Upon Oath Quran Takes: You Will Be Raised Up and You Will Have To Give Account In The Court Of Allah"

Hellfire - Jahannam

"The First That Happens To This People When He Is On His Death Bed, His Family Is Sitting All Around Him, The Angel Of Death Descends Upon This Person, You Are Surrounded By Your Family But You Feel So Alone Because Only You Can See These Angels, And You Are Trying Say To Your Family, Help Me, Help Me, But They Can't Help You, Then He Says, O Evil Soul Come Out To The Anger Of Allah And His Punishment, You're In Your Grave And You Can Hear Your Families Footstep As They Leave You But Do You Have Anywhere To Run, Do You Have Anywhere To Hide, Do You Have Anything Protect Yourself With The Fire Of Jahannam. It Enter In To His Grave And His Grave It Squeezes Him So Tight Until His Ribs Begin To Close On One Another.

The Coming Of Hellfire, And Hellfire Brothers And Sisters Is Not A Pit, It Is A Roaring Raging Beast That Is Held Down By 70,000 Chains Holding Each Chain Is 70'000 Angels, There Is No Scene More Terrifying On The Day Of Judgement Than That Scene, Every Creation Of Allah, Martyrs, Prophets, Believers, Nonbelievers, They Will Fall To Their Knees, All They Are Saying Is: O Allah Protect Us, O Allah Protect Us, And The Hellfire Is A Place Of The Most Extreme Suffering, The Most Extreme Pain, Of Every Level That You Can Imagine, Physical, Mental, Spiritual Pain And Suffering And Torment, The People Will Cry In Agony For Water, They Will Cry For Drink, Something To Cool Them And They Will Be Given A Water, They Will Be Given A Drink, But It Is A Boiling Water, That Will Scold Their Faces And Burn Their Inside,

This Is The Hellfire. The Guardian Of Hellfire Is Maalik, He's Never Smiled Since The Hellfire's Created, He Has No Remorse, He Has No Feeling Of Sensitivity, He Is Desensitise To All Types Of Horror, No Feelings, Doesn't Feel Sorry For Anyone, Hellfire Is Something Not To Be Taken Lightly, Saying O Our Lord, Please Take Us Out, Take Us Out And Let US Try, Give Us Another Chance, If We Do This Again, Then We Are Truly Oppressors To Ourselves, And Allah Doesn't Even Reply To Them, Allah Doesn't Speak To Them.

May Allah SWT protect us all from the hellfire.

Connect With Allah

There are many benefits that have been mentioned with regards to these Adhkar. Of the greatest of these benefits is that these Adhkar keep Shaitan away from the person who recites them, and they prevent the evil from mankind and jinn from harming such people. The person who recites these Adhkar on a daily basis builds around himself a fortress to protect himself from his enemy.

ADKHAR TO LEARN:

When you Wake up:

1. Alhamdu lillaahil-lathee 'ahyaanaa ba'da maa 'amaatanaa wa'ilayhin-nushoor.

Praise is to Allah Who gives us life after He has caused us to die and to Him is the return.

Reference: Al-Bukhari, cf. Al-Asqalani, Fathul-Bari 11/113; Muslim 4/2083

Invocation for someone you have spoken ill to:

2. Allaahumma fa'ayyumaa mu'minin sababtuhu faj'al thaalika lahu qurbatan 'ilayka yawmal-qiyaamati.

O Allah, whomever of the believers I have abused, give him the reward of a sacrificial slaughter for it on the Day of Resurrection.

Reference: Al-Bukhari, cf. Al-Asqalani, Fathul-Bari 11/171, Muslim 4/2007. The wording in Muslim's report is: 'make it a purification for him and a source of mercy.

How a Muslim should praise another Muslim:

3. If any of you praises his companion then let him say :

'Ahsibu fulaanan wallaahu haseebuhu

I consider (such and such a person) , and Allah is his Assessor ,

wa laa 'uzakkee 'alallaahi 'ahadan

(meaning : and I cannot claim anyone to be pious before Allah) if you know of this (good character trait in the person) to be such and such (saying what he thinks is praiseworthy in that person).

Reference: Muslim 4/2296.

What a Muslim should say when he is praised

4. Allaahumma laa tu'aakhithnee bimaa yaqooloona, waghfir lee maa laa ya'lamoona [waj'alnee khayram-mimmaa yadhunnoon].

O Allah , do not call me to account for what they say and forgive me for what they have no knowledge of [and make me better than they imagine].

Reference: Al-Bukhari, Al-'Adabul-Mufrad no. 761. See Al-Albani, Sahih Al-'Adabul-Mufrad (no. 585). The portion between brackets if from Al-Bayhaqi, Shu'ab Al-Iman 4/228, and comes another account.

Lying Is Tantamount To Disbelief

"Lying in the Quran is tantamount to Kufr! What you are going to find is that many a times, Allah uses the word Kazib (Lier) to mean Kufr (Disbelief), to show you how Kazib (Lying) is completely unacceptable in Islam. A Muslim does not lie! A Muslim never lies! & that is why Umar (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "speak the truth even if it kills you! ; speak the truth even if it kills you!". Never cheat in your exams, never lie about anything, never cheat and lie. Ya Ikhwathee, today lying has become endemic (widespread) in our community. Its almost the most easiest thing to do, lie and cheat and steal.

You know, there is a joke that we have you know, forgive me about this if I am racially profiling people, I am not, really, I am just joking. You know, as they say: "Oh I've got 2 PhD's" and they (others) say: "Oh really? from which Pakistani university's?" [laughter]. They make that joke, Ya?. In Bangladesh, for example, on the other hand, people are known to lie about their children all the time, "Oh bhabi (sister) - yes bhabi (sister), my son, Mashallah he...came first in the exam", and he actually came last, but they lie to an amazing extent. I swear, people lie, I don't know why Ya Ikhwathee, but people tend to lie about things and they consider it so easy, but here Allah says (that the wrongdoers will say): "and we lied" & that is why it is reported in an authentic hadith, that if a person continues to lie, Rasulullah (peace be upon him) said: "never lie! but if you continue to lie, then you will be written with Allah that you are a liar, and lying guides to fujoor - which is transgression and fujoor guides you to Jahannum (Hell)". Meaning lying will ultimately lead you to Jahannum (Hell)!. So do not lie Ya Ikhwathee, even if it causes your death, even if it causes you to be kicked out of this university (or your institution), never lie!.

And that is why Umar (may Allah have mercy on him) also said, he said: "I would rather speak the truth even if it humbles me, and very rarely does truth ever humble you, it always glorifies you - and I would never ever lie, even if it raises me (in status), and very rarely does the lie ever raise you, because very soon people will find out that you are a liar". Tayyib Ya Ikhwathee, So be of those people who always speak the truth."

Advice To Muslim Hijabi's

"What Do You Think Of Hijabis Who Wears Tight?  If The Sister, This Is For The People That,That Pound On Women Constantly and Consistently Dont Allow Sisters To Progress, Instead They Do The Exactly The opposite, Of What The Prophet (s.a.w) Said: Dont Support A Person Shaytaan Against Them If A Person Is Wearing Hijab That Is Not Complete, That Does Not Mean You Can Say That They Are Not Wearing Hijab, That Means They're Wearing Hijab but There Is A Flaw On Their Hijab, YoU Cant Say That Its As If Your Not Wearing Hijab, You're Not Muhajjaba, Ok? Thats Not Appropriate To Attack People To That Extent, To Beat Them Down.

On The Other Hand, We Know What The Bound Of Hijab Are, We Know What The Prophet (s.a.w) Legislated Us Hijab, We're not Talking About Difference Of Opinion Covering The Face, Covering The Hands or Covering The Feet Here, What We Know Is That It Represents Modesty, So It Should Be Loose Clothing That Doesnt Show The Figure Of The Body At The Same Time It Should Not Draw More Attractions, Some Hijabs Actually Are A Tease, They're More Of A Tease Than They Are A Covering, Dont Do Something That Would Controdict The Purpose Of Hijab, So Were Hijab To Fullfill Its Purpose InshaAllah and At The Same Time Progress.

Its Not Always All In and Out, Sometimes You'll See A Sister Who Will Wear Short Short, You Know or A Skirt, And Shes Saying Oneday I Wanna Be A Hijabi, Aspire by Getting Closer InshaAllah, Start Wearing Long Skirt, Start Wearing Baggy Pants, Loose Pants, Start Wearing Long Sleeves Things Of That Sort, But Certainly, So The Extremidy That We Have Here, Is We Have 1 Group Of People Thats Acting As If The Hijab Does Not Exsits, Then You Have Another Group Of People, Thats Judgemental Against Not Hijabis and Those Are Extremity, Its In The Middle There, Yes Allah Will Look At Our Insides but These Are Manifestation Of What Is On The Inside, These Are Manditory Actions, Ok? So We Have To Try To Act According To The Command Of Allah, But We've All Got Our Own Issues.

Lets Try To Help Our Sisters Encourage Them One Of The Greatest Thing My Mother In Law Use To Do, They Used To Actually Have Parties For Every Sister, That Started To Wear Hijab, To Encourage Them, Its Not A Biddah, Its Ok, No One Is Saying Its A Sunnah To Throw A Party, No Just Encourage, Encourage Each Other, Help Each Other and Obidience and Concious Of Allah (swt) Dont Beat Each Other Down and Make Them Feel Like Garbage, Help Each Other To Get There But Dont Blur The Standard At The Same Time"

Can Guys & Girls Be Friends?

"Whats The Problem With Having Friends Of The opposite Gender If My Intentions Are Pure? How Many Of You Have Ever Seen the Clip WHY GUYS AND GIRLS CANT BE FRIENDS? Raise Your Hands You Need To Watch It, I Promise You Its Not A Sheikh, Its Not Gonna Be A Guy With Big Beard Is Gonna Tell You, Why Guys and Girls Cant Be Friends. It Was Actually An Experiment On A College Campus by A Non Muslim, So Basically He Asked The Guys: Do You Ever Think About That Person In A Sexual Way or Things Of That Sort And He Asked The Girls Same Question, So All Of Them Said: NO, OFCOURSE WE CAN BE FRIENDS & WE DONT THINK THAT WAY Then Whenever He Had The Guys Alone, He Asked Them The Same Question: DO YOU THINK GUYS AND GIRLS CAN BE FRIENDS? All Of Them Said No and All Of The Girls Were Like "Yah Ofcourse" Then He Asked The Girls, He Said: Well Do You Think That If You Open Yourself Upto A Relationship With Him, That He'd Be Willing To Engage In, Relationship With You, They Were Like "Oh Yah Ofcourse" and So The Point Was At The End Of The Experiment, Was Guys and Girls Cant Be Friends.

Ofcourse In That Regards, The Point Is and Im Not An Advocate, I Think That, SubhanAllah Sheikh Sulaiman Udhe Once Said Something Very Powerful, He Said If You Close The Doors To That Which Is Permissable, People Will Break The Doors People Will Break Them and People Will Transgress, There Was Communication and Interaction Between, Genders Of The Time Of The Prophet (s.a.w) but It Was Respectful, It Was Limited To What Was Necessary It Was Not, You Know SubhanAllah We Teach Split Personality, Seriously Its Like the Sisters Comes To The Masjid, And Shes An Alien, Right? but Whenever Shes Outside Mashallah Shes A Fair Game, Thats Hypocrisy, We Should Learn To Be Consistant, In Essence We Were Forbidden From Khalwa, We Were Forbidden From Being Alone With One Another, We Were Forbidden From Being Flirtation, From Exposing Anything From The Hijab, Guys and Girls, Guys Youve Got A Hijab To, Im Just Letting You Know, You Also Have To Observe Certain Limits So Dont Think You Can Post Whatever Pictures You Want To Post To Khalwa, Being Alone, Ciber Khalwa The Chat, FB Chat, All This Smiley Faces and Things Of That Sort, "I Think You Look Really Good In Your Jersey Today" and Whatever It Was, All Of That Is Not Allowed Either, Now Why Is It? What If My Intentions Are Pure? and This Is Something I Really Wanna Address From The Makas Of Shariah, From The Objectives Of Divine Legislation, Allah (swt) Adresses, Norms Allah Does Not Address Exceptions, The Shariah Is Based Upon Norms, Not On Exception If Guys, If You Think You Can Be With A Girl and Shes Just My Cousin, Shes My Really Good Friend, I Dont Really Feel That Way Towards Her, You Are Not The Norm, You Are The Exception The Legislation Will Not Be Based On Exception, WIll Be Based On Norms.

Just A Month Ago I Had A Sister That Took One Of My Classes That Told Me That She Was With Her Male Cousin, Alone In The Car, He Used To Drop Her Of To School Everyday For 2 Years and All Of A Sudden He Groped Her, They're Both Masjid Goers, She Didnt Know How To Deal With It, She Said I Never Expected It I Never Thought Of Him That Way but Obviously He Was Thinking Of Me That Way, Thats The 1st Thing Wrong With The Question "My Intentions Were Pure" How Can You Know The Intetion Of The Other Person? You Cannot Know The Intention, And Let Me Tell You Something Sisters, Guys Play Alot Of Games, No Offense Men, Brothers Just Cover Your Ears We Are Not Who You Think We Are Sometimes, As Long As A Man Is Still Biologically Man, He Still Is Attractive To A Women Ok? Unless He's Undergone Some Procedure or Something Like That, He's Still A Man, He Still Likes Women, He Still Likes Sisters, So Allah Addresses The Norms, Not The Exceptions, Maybe You Can Control Your Self but Not Everyone Can"

Who Are You Doing It For?

Bismillahirrahmaanirraheem

Sufyan Ath-Thawri(may ALLAH (subahaanawat'aala) have mercy on him) said, I did not find upon myself, I did not encounter, I did not experience anything harder upon myself then my niyyah, my intention. Brothers and sisters, how many of us don't even check our intentions. Brothers and sisters, how many of us try to do things for ALLAH (subahaanawat'aala) and (Audobillah), we might be going on day of judgment and we won't find these deeds, and we will say where are they? where are they? and they are nowhere to be found, why? Because they are done for something other than ALLAH (subahaanawat'aala). Renewing your intentions brothers and sisters, It's not something easy, renewing your intentions is something very very difficult. How many people in the field of dawah, going out, sitting in front of the camera, giving lectures, not checking the intention. Subhan'ALLAH (glory be to ALLAH), one of the scholars used to say, "Check your intentions, ask yourself over and over again, whom am I doing this for? Is this for ALLAH? Who am I doing this for? Is this for ALLAH?" And you might answer it, your nafs (desire) will tell you, "yes! it's for ALLAH brother, don't worry , yes! it's for ALLAH sister, don't worry". But then you ask yourself again, really? Is it for ALLAH? Who am I doing this for? Is this really for ALLAH (subahaanawat'aala)? Ask yourself over and over and over again, till you, from the inside are honest with yourself, that maybe it's not for the sake of ALLAH and you renew your intentions, and you change it and you ask ALLAH (subahaanawat'aala) to change your niyyah (intention). "Oh ALLAH! Change our niyyah (intention), oh ALLAH perfect and make our niyyah (intention) to be sincerely for your sake, Oh ALLAH!".

However, I wanna change it and tell you that a lot of people quit sometimes, and say, you know what brother, sister "I am not too good, I don't think I am doing this for the sake of ALLAH, you know my intention is not there" and they stop . They don't work for ISLAM , they don't work for ALLAH, they don't work for this dawah. Shaitan has fooled them, shaitan has made them stop. He is playing with them, with their intention. This is not what you have to do that you stop. "Oh brother, I am not good , you know, oh some kind of piety and I need to stop". No, you need to fight, it is a war. This Sufyan Ath-Thawari, he is a mountain of hadith, he is a mountain of a scholar of ISLAM and he finds it hard upon himself to deal with his niyyah (intention).

Umar Al Khattab (may ALLAH have mercy on him), he used to fight with himself, with his nafs (desire), they used to say, he used to put himself down, he used to humble himself and used to (say) "I want to show the nafs of umar, who is umar. I wanna show who I really am" because he knew his real value, he knew his real worth. And they used to do these kind of things to put them down. And that's why ALLAH (subahaanawat'aala) has given us through his messenger Muhammed (peace be upon him), this beautiful thing, whoever humbles himself for the sake of ALLAH (subahaanawat'aala), whoever humiliates himself for the sake of ALLAH (subahaanawat'aala), ALLAH (subahaanawat'aala) will raise him. ALLAH(subahaanawat'aala) will lift him up. ALLAH (subahaanawat'aala) will raise his worth. So, try to always practice something. By ALLAH, brothers and sisters, try to practice something that will humble you, try to remember your sins that will humble you, try to remember the things that you have done that will humble you and put you in check and show you who you really are, so that people when they look at you, when they praise you, you know that riya, that show off will not enter your heart because you know your real worth."

The Ideal Muslim Marriage (Nikhah)

Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaathuhu

"My brothers and sisters, when a person has faulted how do they make things right? Like I was saying, "The Nikhah (Marriage)" how should it take place? It must be simple! Very simple Nikhah! We must not try and compete with the Jhoneses (Kuffar -- The disbelievers) - No! "That family had a very big Nikhah with 2000 guests! We want to have one with 3000 guests! ; That family gave this gift, we want to have that!" No, you are making it difficult. There will be no Barakhah (blessings) in that marriage. You can invite how many people you want, keep it simple. Keep it segregated, separated. Make sure you understand (that) it is a religious function, it is not social function. Understand that! It is a function that is sacred, and this is why, treat it as though it is a function that is held because of the pleasure of Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) alone, and then you will understand. Today we have, you know, people who get together, music is blasting, men and women are there, the bride who sometimes is very religious, the day she is getting married, her hair is showing, her cleavage is showing, her legs are showing, she is sitting in front of all the men and the husband comes in, he's supposed to be a religious person, but even he chooses clothes that do not depict any religiousness at all, and he wants to sit right in front of everyone, and everyone is taking pictures and congratulating them and all the young boys and girls. It has happened where a man has seen a woman at his own marriage, prettier than his wife, so he divorced his wife to marry that women! Wallahi I am not telling you a lie, it is a true story. Look at this! Why? Because we don't do our things properly, and then some of us say "No man! these people are, like I said, Mulla's from Afghanistan". Astaghfirullah! Wallahi, this is a religious ruling. I mean if some one tells you "read your salah" it does not make them a bad person. If some one tells you, look this is a proper religious function which is spiritual. I had the opportunity of sitting next to a Rabbi, in one of the aircrafts and I learned so much, because a lot of their rules and regulations are very very close to Islam. They are stricter than us in so many things & that is the pure Judaism. Subhaana Allah! But their followers will not go out and say "No...it's a barbaric religion" but we sometimes would like to go out and challenge our own religion and we don't want (it). Why is it? Let us not become dissolved in the cauldron of westernization, dissolved in the cauldron of Satanism, dissolved in the cauldron of worshipping our own desires. That shouldn't be the case. May Allah protect us (Ameen!)."

A Glimpse Of Heaven

Bismillah - wal humduillah - wa ssaalaatu wa ssalaamu 'aala Rasoolillah.

Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) says in Surah Yasin (36), He says:‏ "Today - indeed the people of Jannah will be at work, will be engulfed in work". (فٰكِهُوۡنَ) "And what they will be doing is, they will be quite happy with their occupation. They will be really really busy but their occupation that they have, they will be very happy with it.". What's this occupation that they'll have? And why does Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) call it an 'occupation'? Usually an occupation doesn't have the meaning of fun in there. When you say "I'm", when somebody calls you and you say "I'm kinda occupied at the moment." What does the other person think? He thinks "You're busy. You're doing something really important/significant". He doesn't think you're sitting there entertaining yourself. But Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) calls the People of Jannah, calls their occupation or their enjoyment occupation. The reason for that is because they will be so busy in enjoying themselves, it's as if their enjoyment is an occupation.

And then Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) continues and He says, just so you understand that this occupation is not "busyness", it's not, it won't wear you out, it's not actual work. He says: "فٰكِهُوۡنَ"‌ they'll be quite happy with what they're doing. They're actually having a lot of fun and they're so busy having fun, fun that they can't really answer a phone call or anything of that sort. So Allah says: (اِنَّ اَصۡحٰبَ الۡجَـنَّةِ الۡيَوۡمَ فِىۡ شُغُلٍ فٰكِهُوۡنَ) ‌"They're busy, they're occupied but their happy with their occupation". (هُمۡ وَاَزۡوَاجُهُمۡ) "Them and their wives, their spouses". (فِىۡ ظِلٰلٍ) "They will be in shades". Now I want you to imagine for a second...anything that you really want to do in your life...Imagine yourself at the moment, sitting before a beach. If you're sitting before a beach site, especially in the morning time when the sun is out, it's really hot, what do you plan on doing? What do you think? What do you do? What do you think of? Right away you think of an umbrella. You think of a chair. You think of a table. You think of some juice. You think of some fruits, maybe some grapes that your wife is feeding you. And Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) is describing just that. He says: "My slave, whatever you want in this dunya, when you think of that beach site you really wanna be at, Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) will give it to you in Jannah". (اِنَّ اَصۡحٰبَ الۡجَـنَّةِ الۡيَوۡمَ فِىۡ شُغُلٍ فٰكِهُوۡنَ‌) "They're busy with that joyful occupation". And what's that's occupation? "They will be in Jannah, sitting with their spouses (فِىۡ ظِلٰلٍ) in shades". Now the interesting thing is, Allah uses the word ظِلٰلٍ which has two singular forms: shades and umbrellas. So Allah is telling you that there will be light, and that light will require shade and that won't just be random shade. Rather, you can literally imagine yourself under a chair with an umbrella because Allah says: (عَلَى الۡاَرَآٮِٕكِ) "They will be on chairs. They will be resting/reclining on chairs. But above those chairs, will be these shades". Now what are you shading yourself from? Doesn't Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) say in the Qur'an: "They won't see any sun in Jannah?" There is no Sun...You are shading yourself from the brightness that becomes part of Jannah through the Nur (light) of Allah (سبحانه و تعالى), through the light of Allah.

A Message From The Graveyard

Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaathuhu

This is your brother Ismail Bullock for The Daily Reminder. Now brothers and sisters, I am standing here in the graveyard. Why am I standing in the graveyard? This is my home and this is your home. This is where ultimately we will be. We are here, as we know, in this earth for a short period of time, but are we living our lives as if we are here, as the Prophet (Muhammad ﷺ) said: "Be in this world like you are a stranger" or "a person who is just walking through it - a traveler who is just passing through a country." Are we living this life? Or are we saying to ourselves: "In sha Allah you know, it's true, death is a reality!"

Allah tells us in the Quran that death is a reality...when he says...that: "Indeed! The intoxication of death has come in truth. This is what you're afraid of." This is what we're afraid of, this is what we hide from! But can we, in realty hide from this O brothers and sisters? And Allah created us to worship Him but Allah tells us also why He created life and death, when He says: "It is he (Allah) Who Created Life and death to see which of you are the best in deeds." So are we living that life of good deeds? Are we living a life of righteousness? Or do we say: "Come on, I've got plenty of time. I'm only 20. I'm only 18. I'm only 30. I know I have to be good. I'll be good In sha Allah, when I'm 30, when I'm 40, then I'll pray! Then I'll grow beard, Then I'll do the things of Islam (that) I'm supposed to do", but this grave yard I am standing in here, these people next to me - are of various ages. They all thought the same thing. They all thought they had that extra year, that extra day, that extra minute, but in reality they didn't! And none of us know, O brothers and sisters, when we are going to die.

Allah subhanahu Wa Ta'ala tells us...Allah subhanahu wa Ta'alla says that: "No person, no soul knows what will, what they will put forth tomorrow, what will happen tomorrow, what they will do tomorrow" and then He finishes by saying "and no soul (no person) knows when, or which land, where they will die." This is the reality! So are we willing to take that risk? As they say "Now is the time, now is the time to make that change!" And to bring a bit of realty of this grave, Uthman (RadiyAllahu Anhu) as reported by his freed slave Haani, he said that: "Uthman (RadiyAllahu Anhu), he would, when he was mentioned about Jannah (Paradise) to him, or about Jahannam, the hellfire, he wouldn't cry, but when he went to the grave, so he said to him: "Ya Uthman, when we mentioned paradise and hellfire you do not cry, but when we come here...to this place, the grave, you cry!" (and he would cry until his beard will be full of the wetness of his tears - and they said) why is this? - Paradise?! Jahannam?! You didn't cry but you cry about grave!" and Uthman (RadiyAllahu Anhu) replied and said: "Surely it is because the Prophet (ﷺ) said...that: "The grave is the first stage of the hereafter. So whoever is successful in this stage is successful thereafter and whoever is unsuccessful and has failed in this stage of the grave, he has failed and unsuccessful in hereafter""

Women & Perfume - Islamic Advice

Shopping Malls  "Ya'ani - Go to malls, go to malls and watch the men ah, don't watch women, watch only women, and laugh your head off. You find people, respectable people walking, decent people, married people, and the minute they hear the high heel sound 'tick tock, tick, tock', immediately you find heads turning. It might be a man wearing a high heel ah, but the sound itself, ignites something. So SubahaanAllah, Shaythaan works in strange ways. His job is to tempt you. The Prophet (ﷺ) went further to forbid women from wearing perfume to non-mahrams. Even if coming to the Masjid.

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a woman fully dressed in niqab and mashAllah nothing, and he found a beautiful smell, a beautiful scent, coming from her (Incense) and he asked her: "Where are you going - the slave of Allah - The Almighty? Where are you going? To the Masjid?" She said: "Yes". He said to her: "Go back and have a full shower." Because the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever (among the female slaves of Allah) goes out wearing perfume, going to the Masjid, Allah would not accept her prayer until she goes back and has a full shower." Because of that perfume, and, biologists tells us that they discovered recently that there is a gland in the nose of men, that provokes a sexual desire. Not only that, the Prophet (ﷺ) says: "Whoever (that is a woman) - Whoever wears perfume, and goes out of her house, and passes by men so that they can find the perfume smell, she is committing an act of fornication, or adultery." Imagine?! And the Prophet (ﷺ) instructed women when they come to the Masjid, to come without any sort of perfume. To the Masjid! How about if they are going to...which is...what is the Masjid? The Prophet (ﷺ) tells us: "The most beloved piece of land to Allah is the Masjid. And the worst and most abhorred piece of land to Allah Azzawajal is the markets." And how do our women go to the markets? Half a bottle of perfume. Why? What are you doing? She says: "I am a muslimah, I have to show people that Islam is beautiful, and Islam smells good." Yeah, But you are doing it on the wrong place. You should do this but you don't do it to non-mahram, because this has more harm than good."

Advice To The Parents

Advice to the parents: The parents now, realize that, Allah ('Azza wa jal) has given you a role. That role is not to be a dictator; that role is not to control each and every matter of the lives of your children, but that role is that of 'Murabbi' - That role is that of a nourisher. And that nourishment will be a lot when it's a seedling, and as a seedling grows, that nourishment will minimize. This is what your role is.

So don't think short term, think long term. Think 'what's gonna happen to this child 15/20 years down the line if I treat him in this manner versus that manner'. Don't think short term - Think long term. Remember! That your child might go ways and do things you don't like, but in the long run, you want your child to have this perception: "I can always go back to my mother and father no matter what I do". You don't want your child to...as soon as they're independent, leave the house, and that's what's happening, a number of households...we know this. I know places where as soon as the kid's found a job, because the home environment was SO stifling, they hated it so much, they just disappeared. Realize! That thinking long term will save you in this regard. Your role is to provide an atmosphere of love, an atmosphere of comfort...no doubt you'll be strict at times, but think long term, even when it comes to this strictness.

Why Is Allah Not Listening To My Dua?

And this is important. Why did Allah listen to Yunus? Can any tell me why? Why did Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) listen to Yunus? Because in another part Allah says: "And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, he would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected." [37-143:144] what is Allah saying? Allah is saying in another part in the Quran that had it not been that Yunus was from the musabbiheen, was from those who worshipped me before in times of ease, I'd have left him in the belly of the whale in his time of distress until the Day of Judgment. So when will Allah listen to your dua when you're in distress? Only if you praise Allah in times of ease.

Are you in ease now, ya ikhwati? You are. Praise Allah now. Praise Allah copiously. Thank him now, because a day will come when Allah will test you, and Allah will not listen to you if you didn't praise him in your time of ease. Allah will only listen to you if you praise him in your time of ease. Right? That's why, ya ikhwati, if you think in your time of distress, 'Why is Allah not listening? Why is Allah not listening?! Oh Allah why are you not listening?' It's because you never praised him in your time of ease, that's why Allah will not listen to you in your time of distress.

Look at firaun. Firaun accepted Islam just before he died, did he not? He said "Amantu bi Rabbi Haroon wa Musa." Allah say "Now (you believe) while you refused to believe before and you were one of the Mufsidun (evil-doers, corrupts, etc.)." [10:92]. Now you believe O' Firaun, when you used to disbelieve before, and you were from those who transgressed in my path. So Allah didn't accept the islam of Firaun, did he? But he accepted the taubah of Yunus. Why? He accepted the Taubah of Yunus (a.s) because he used to worship Allah in his time of ease, so Allah remembered him in time of distress. But Allah did not remember Firaun because Firaun used to disbelieve Allah in his time of ease, so Allah did not listen to him in his time of distress.

So you remember this, ya ikhwati, Give charity, praise Allah lot more in time of ease so that when time of distress comes, Allah will listen to you at that time as well.

This Is Jahannam!

Ya Ikhwathi! This is Jahannam (hellfire). Jahannam has been described by the Prophet (ﷺ) in many many ahadith of Rasolullah (ﷺ) which are authentic. Let me tell you some of the descriptions of Jahannam that are authentic.

Number 1 - we know that Jahannam has been lit for 70 years until it turned white. Then 70 years until it turned red and then for another 70 years until Jahannam turned black. Meaning, it was kindled. So, what that basically means is that the angels, the 19 angels of Jahannam, they kept on blowing into it, blowing into it, blowing into it, and throwing into it bodies of Shayatheen & Ins and throwing into it rocks and whatever else into it, to kindle the fire, until the fire has been kindled for 210 years. How long does it take to start a fire? Have you ever started a fire in the woods? It only takes 10 minutes, right? Sometimes, if you get a light and (blows) then you blow a little bit and then it comes up. Sometimes when you start a barbecue...has anyone started a barbecue? It takes only 15 minutes! Sometimes you kindle it, a little bit of air, Alhamdulillah. Imagine something that has been kindled for 210 years! 210 years a fire has been building, building, building...that is what has happened to Jahannam.

Number 2 - Jahannam is huge. The Prophet (ﷺ) told us that Jahannam has 70,000 rings. On each of the rings is a rope. On each of the rope is 70,000 angels. Huge! Massive! We also know that Jahannam is insatiable. What does that mean? Insatiable means (that) every time you throw people in there, the more hungry it gets. That's why Allah (Subahaana wa ta'ala) says in Surah Qaf. He said: "On that day when we will call out to Jahannam, Are you full?!" And Jahannam will say: "Is there any more?" Okay? Is there any more...and the Tafsir mentions that Jahannam will ask for more and more. And he will not stop doing it until Allah puts his foot on Jahannam and squashes Jahannam. On that point, Jahannam will say: "That's it! That's it Ya Rabb! I am full, I am full." And so, in the authentic hadith of Rasoolullah (ﷺ)...

The 3rd description of Jahannam is that the Prophet (ﷺ) said that: "It is 70 times hotter than the hottest fire in this Dunya." 70 times hotter than the hottest fire. What is the hottest fire that we know of in existence? Millions, millions of Calvin, which is the temperature of the sun. So, it is hotter than even, the temperature of the sun. 70 times. And in the Arabic language, when we say 70, it means countless. That's why when Allah says to Rasoolullah (ﷺ), even if you were to ask 70 times to forgive the non-Muslims, I would still not forgive them. That does not mean that only ask 71 times and then Allah will forgive, No. It means, 70 means, in the word 70 in Arabic means (that it is) countless.

May Allah (SWT) Protect you and me from Jahhannam, and our families from it, and may Allah (SWT) keep us away from it, and write for us safety from Jahannam today. Oh Allah make us from those people who are safe from Jahhannam (Ameen).

The Return To The Quran

It would be appropriate to mention...considering that we are talking about the Quran, and the return to the Qur'an...that we find to look back and to study Fada'il ul-Qur'an, to look at the virtues of the Qur'an that may begin to inspire us to live, to become people of Ahl-ul-Qur'an, people of the Qur'an, and thus you find Ibn Kathir, Imam-un-Mufassireen, has written in great detail, in the beginning of his tafsir, talking about the virtues of the Qur'an, and likewise you find inside many books of ahadith, collecting chapters of ahadith about Fadail-ul Qur'an, to look at the virtues of the Qur'an. Amongst those ahadith that come to mind, if you look inside Riyadh-us Saliheen, its talking about the hadith...that the believer who recites the Qur'an...the believer who recites the Qur'an and carries out the actions of the Qur'an, as we find in a hadith of Al-Bukhari, when Aaishah (May Allah be pleased with her) was asked about the Prophet (ﷺ) and she mentioned, 'his character was the Qur'an' -- with which meaning, that he stuck to the halal (permissible) and avoided the haram (forbidden). So the highest level of being a believer is a person who recites the Qur'an, and also implements the Qur'an.

That individual's hadith, that parable is given, 'kal utrujjati' is like a citron, a type of orange, whose fragrance is good, and its taste is sweet. That is the ultimate level of a believer, who finds 'halaawat-ul-Iman' - the sweetness of Iman, of not just listening to the melodious recitation of the Qur'an but also finds the sweetness in the implementation of the Qur'an, and this is one of the many reasons, or the main reasons that we find weakness of this Blessed Muslim Ummah, is a lack of implementation of the Qur'an, thus we find the Qur'an mentions, 'This is a Blessed Book that We have sent down upon you, that you may be given to ponder over its verses.' Imam Al-Hassan al-Basri mentioned that you begin to, to ponder over the verses, there's a general meaning of just pondering over the verses, but the hidden meaning is...is to live according to the Qur'an, to try to implement the Qur'an to the best of one's ability.

Thus the Qur'an mentions inside Suratul-Furqan, the twenty-fifth chapter of the Qur'an, the messenger will make this statement, 'O my Lord! Indeed my people have abandoned the Qur'an.' [25:30] What is the meaning of 'Hajral Qur'an?' What does it mean to abandon the Qur'an? Amongst the meanings, the plausible meanings of abandoning the Qur'an is obviously that which is clear, the recitation of the Qur'an, as the Qur'an mentions inside Suratul-Baqarah as well, 'Some of us, we throw the Book of Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala (May He be Glorified and Exalted) behind our backs, as if we don't know.' This Qur'an, the Qur'an is an evidence for you, or an evidence against you, for all of us Muslims.

Barak Allahu Feekum.

Game Over

My dear Brothers and Sisters - Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaathuhu

Have you ever had one of those nights where you've just wasted the night and have done nothing productive at all, except talking and talking and talking and talking. Perhaps you were talking about Brangelina, perhaps you were talking about Justin Beiber's new haircut, or maybe you were just playing call of duty all night long. The Prophet (ﷺ) has taught us how to conclude such gatherings that are within of themselves permissible but nothing productive is actually achieved. He said conclude such gathering with: "سبحانك اللهم و بحمدك اشهدان لااله الاانت استغفرك واتوب اليك". That you conclude with: "O' Allah! All praise and glory is due to you. I testify that there is no one worthy of worship except you. I seek your forgiveness and repent to you." This is the du'a that Prophet (ﷺ) called 'Kaffaratul Majlis' -- That it is the expiation for any sins that may have occurred or any lack of productivity that may have occurred during that time. So get into the habit of concluding your sessions with this du'a, Be'idhnillahi Ta'ala (with the permission of Allah Ta'ala) and perhaps Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) may forgive our sins that took place in that gathering. Now the beautiful thing about this du'a is that if you look at the message of Surah An-Nasr, you know that famous Surah 'Iza Ja'anasrullahi wal fat'h', you will see that there is a great co-relation and similarity between these two things, that you praise Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) and you seek his forgiveness. In-fact, this was the last complete Surah (that was) revealed to Prophet (ﷺ) that, you know as his life is coming to an end, do these things, that (is to) praise Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala); glorify him and seek his forgiveness and that is what the Prophet (ﷺ) in-fact did. May Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) grant us the Taufeeq to implement this du'a in our daily lives and conclude our sessions with it. Now, here is an action item. Press the 'Like' button right now, learn this du'a, and let's conclude this session properly...

"سبحانك اللهم و بحمدك اشهدان لااله الاانت استغفرك واتوب اليك"

(Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, 'ash-hadu 'an laa 'ilaaha 'illaa 'Anta, 'astaghfiruka wa 'atoobu 'ilayk)

Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise is to You. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You.
Take care. All the best...

Increasing Prostrations

My dear brothers and sisters, Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) sent prophets and revealed books, and from the wisdom's of this, is so that we can worship Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) the way he wants to be worshiped. From the ways that Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) wants to be worshiped is through Salah, and Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) says as taught to us by Rasoolullah (ﷺ) in a hadith, that there is no better way of gaining closeness to Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) other than observing the obligatory acts specified by Allah (Subhaan wa Ta'ala). And then Rasoolullah (ﷺ) teaches us, that after observing these obligatory acts, there is no better way to gain closeness to Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) than observing the voluntary acts of worship, and in the Sunnah it states, that a person doesn't continue with these voluntary act of worship until this person becomes beloved to Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala). May Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) make us from amongst those that are beloved to Him!

The greatest act of worship after the Shahada (testimony of faith) is As-Salah, and Rasoolullah (ﷺ) has taught us outside of the obligatory acts of prayer, with the permission of Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala), other voluntary salawaat that you and I can use to gain even more closeness to Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) and become beloved to him. For example, we have the 'Sunan ar Rawaatib' - in which Rasoolullah (ﷺ) taught us, that a person who observes them, these 12 rak'at or units of prayer in his or her day and night, they did not observe it except that Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) builds for them a house in Jannah! And Rasoolullah (ﷺ) taught us that there is no person who observes the fajr salah and then sits in his places remembering Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) until the sun rises then gets up and observes two rak'at, two units of prayer, except that Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) rewards him or her, with the rewards of Hajj and Umrah, and in some narrations, the complete rewards of Hajj and Umrah, La Ilaaha IllAllah. I ask Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) to preserve us in his obedience and inspire us to come together solely for his sake.

"My Slave : Why Did You Not Pray?"

Indeed some of the scholars will tell you, if you want Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) to listen to you, or if you want to speak to Allah...pray. If you want to listen to Allah...listen to the Qur'an. So now, akhi and ukhti, we already know the answer, if you pray, what happens and if you don't pray, what happens. So some of us will procrastinate, 'after I reach 40, after I perform Hajj, after I get married!' You're riding the waves of false hopes. Imagine yourself, standing in front of Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) when he asks you questions, 'My slave! Why did you not pray?' What excuse will you do? What will you say? Where will you run? Where will you hide? -- 'I was rich, I was poor, I was good-looking, places to go, things to do, people to see.' No Wallaahi, Imagine that some of us are worse than Shaythaan...SubhaanAllah (Glory be to Allah)! How could you be worse than Shaythaan? Is it possible for you, to actually be called worse than Shaythaan? I'm sure you know who I am talking about, no need for introduction. You know who's worse than Shaythaan? The one that does not pray...because...which one is worse? Shaythaan was commanded to bow down in respect to Adam (May Allah be pleased with him), and the children of Adam (May Allah be pleased with him) was commanded to bow down to Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala), and they refused, which one is worse?! The one that was commanded to bow down to Adam (May Allah be pleased with him) and he refused or the one that was commanded to bow down to Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) and he refused? SubhaanAllah (Glory be to Allah)! Imagine yourself on Judgment Day, akhi and ukhti, where everyone will prostrate to Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala), when Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) comes to start Judgment in a way befitting His Majesty...When Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) comes befitting His Majesty...and, they will prostrate, they will be asked to prostrate, and they will not be able to. So, if you prostrated to Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) in this dunya (world), you would be able to prostrate to Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) in the Hereafter. If you did not prostrate to Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) here, you will not be given that glory or the chance to prostrate to Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala). So what's holding you back?

"So whatever you have been given is but (a passing) enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. And those who avoid the great sins and lewdness, and when they are angry, they forgive. And those who answer the Call of their Lord, and perform the Salah, and who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them." (Quran 42:36-38)

When Those We Love Pass Away

Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaathuh

Ahlan wa sahlam wa marhaban bikum

Ya AbdAllah -- Ya AmatAllah. Allah (subahaanahu wa ta'ala) states in the noble Quran: 'Every single soul will taste death'. Ya AbdAllah (O slave of Allah) no doubt, the loss of a parent is a massive blow to any human being. Whether it be Muslim, or whether it be non-Muslim. With regards to the Muslim, as the Messenger (ﷺ) has stated, that the believer, all of his affairs are good. If it's tough times, he has sabr (patience) that walhamdulillah, this is good for him and when it's good times he makes shukr (thanks) and walhamdulillah that's good for him. With regards to the loss of a parent or any other close relative, be it a husband, be it a wife, be it a child, Allahu musta'an (may Allah help us), then a few pointers that we should take note of, in sha Allah.

Number 1 - This is the Qadr (decree) of Allah (subahaanahu wa ta'ala). Every single one of us, this is the journey that we have to face and we have to go through. Do we not want to meet Allah (subahaanahu wa ta'ala)? Do we not want to enter into paradise? Yes we do. And so, we have to go through deaths door.

Number 2 - Ya Abdallah, with regards to the funeral preparations, with regards to the events, with regards to the matters surrounding the death, we should stick to the shari'ah of Muhammad (ﷺ). We should not involve ourselves in innovations; involve ourselves in practices, cultural practices, etc. Rather stick to the Sunnah, for verily, it is the best.

Number 3 - Ya Abdallah, no doubt, this is emotional turmoil when someone passes away. Have people around oneself. If you know of someone who has lost a father, lost a mother, offer themself a shoulder, offer them a shoulder, offer them time that they can speak about this loss.
Many a times, we bottle this in and in reality it comes out at times in the wrong way. Rather, speak to somebody. No doubt, it is natural. We lost a father, lost a grandfather, lost a mother, who was with us for our entire lives Allahu musta'an (may Allah help us). It is no doubt a massive loss. So speak to someone. And no doubt, getting over, getting over this turmoil, getting over this emotional rollercoaster might not take just a week, might not take 2 days or 5 days. It might be months, but SubahaanAllah, with time, (bi'izthnillahi ta'ala -- by the permission of Allah) all matters heal. The Messenger (ﷺ) lost a son, he lost more than one a son. He lost Qasim, he lost Ibrahim, he lost Abdullah, he lost Ruqayyah, he lost Umm Kulthum, and he lost Zaynab. When he was tearing and they asked him, 'even you cry O Muhammad (ﷺ)?' What did he say? He said that, 'That's the eyes tears, the heart is saddened but we only say what is pleasing to Allah (subahaanahu wa ta'ala).' and so, crying, tearing, all of these matters are fine. This is how we overcome this great loss that one has faced.

A Disturbing Trend Among Muslims

Today there is a sickness among the Muslims. You know what is this sickness? What is the scientific explanation for this? This is the sickness nowadays. Everything has to be explained scientifically. Are you following? There are certain things you cannot explain. Why you Muslims, you don't eat the flesh of the swine, pig, pork, why? You know there is a worm inside, Common! That is by product. Did the Sahaaba knew about that or they left it because Allah said so. Tell me? Allah said so. Allah said don't eat it, we don't eat it. Don't drink alcohol, we don't drink alcohol.

Don't you see some doctors today they say, 'you know brandy is medicinal.' You know that? Doctors...yes! Little brandy is good. Wine after food is good. And they are doctors. Do we follow them? When the doctor came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said, 'I use the alcohol, the liquor to treat my patients.' What did prophet (ﷺ) said, 'It is a disease itself.' The khamar itself is a disease, it's not a cure. Today if the whole world are saying riba (usury) is halal and you have no option, you have to do riba. Will that make riba halal? If the whole world they want khamar? Will that make it halal? They want zina (fornication), they want...will that make it halal? Finish! That's why we Muslims say, 'It is Allah whom we accepted as our creator and Allah knows and we don't know.' Allah knows and you don't know. So it is the Imaan. It is the Imaan. So not everything, what is the scientific explanation? What is the scientific explanation that maghrib is 3 rak'ah, why the fajr 2 rak'ah's. Why wudu 3 times? Why not 5? Why not 7? What is that? So it is the ibadah, again that we are servants of Allah! Allah (subahaanahu wa ta'ala) out of his mercy, he allows us to come and to know some Hikmah (wisdom). These are just byproducts, they come along. But the most important thing is the Imaan that the creator said so.

Bottom Of The Bottle

Alcohol. This is an example of how a person can be a slave to other than Allah. What was the relationship between the Arab man before Islam and Alcohol? If you look into their poetry, and their addiction and obsession with alcohol, you will find it was near enough a master-slave relationship. Whatever the alcohol wants from you, they would do it. Whenever the urge to drink would come, they would respond to it. The idea of alcohol formed their ambitions in life. It formed their outlook, it changed their vision.... it changed everything! Whatever alcohol wanted from them, they would respond. They virtually became alcoholics. People who are addicted to it. However, Islam has come and prohibited alcohol. Why? To ensure that your Tawheed is preserved. To ensure that your slavery is to Allah and Allah alone. See the prohibition of alcohol is not simply because it intoxicates the mind, it gives you a headache, it makes you sick, it makes you fornicate with family and what not. There are some reasons. Right? But if that was the only reason why alcohol was prohibited, then our Shariah would have said to us' it's okay to drink alcohol, just maybe a glass full, but don't drink a bottle, don't drink to a level where you will become intoxicated. Correct? But we know that in our deen, drinking a drop of alcohol and a bottle is the same. Therefore we understand that the wisdom behind the prohibition of alcohol is something other than just intoxication. It is fundamentally to preserve your Tawheed, the oneness of your worship to Allah (swt), so that you don't become enslaved to it. That is why the Messenger (sal) would say, as is narrated by Ibn Abbas in an authentic chain of narration: 'Whoever dies as an alcoholic' he said, 'will meet Almighty Allah as if he had worshipped an idol.' Do you see the link between alcohol and worshipping an idol? What is the link? The link is that master-slave relationship. Therefore the cornerstone of why alcohol was forbidden was to preserve your Tawheed. That you adore and you are enslaved to only Allah Almighty but alcohol can change that. So it was forbidden.

I now take you to the Hadith in Sahih Al Bukhari where the Prophet (SAW) says on the authority of the companion Abi Malik Al Ashari, listen...

There will come a time where a group of Muslims from my Ummah will deem alcohol, and fornication, and musical instruments and silk as permissible. Doesn't this Hadith increase us in our love of the Prophet (saw), and our certainty in his prophet-hood, And Nubuwwah. Look at how he singles out alcohol, and music, and fornication because their manipulative properties are incredible. These are the tools of Shaythaan that he uses to move people away from the slavery of Allah to the slavery of man and to the slavery of his desires.

Fear Allah Wherever You Are !

Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaathuhu

Today in sha Allah I want to briefly touch upon a hadeeth where the prophet sallahu alaihiwasallam said...

Fear Allah wherever you are, whether you are with Muslims or non-Muslims, whether you are with good company or bad company, whether you are at home or you are at work or in public or in private! Fear Allah subhanwaataa'ala, know that he is watching you even if you do not see him.

And follow up a sin with a good deed in order to nullify the sin. If you fall into the trap of satan, then commit a good deed sincerely for the sake of Allah subhanwaataa'ala so that he may erase your sin. And treat all people with kind manners. The Prophet sallahualaiwasallam didn't say treat only the Muslims with kind manners, rather he said treat all people with kind manners. This itself is a form of dawah, whether you are with Muslims or non-Muslims, older or younger, man or women, treat all people with kind manners. Kind manners are a reflection of the heart.

If the heart is purified, the entire exterior, our characteristics with other people, our conduct with people will also become purified. We ask Allah subhnawataa'ala to elevate our status & to grant us taqwa and to grant us the ability to commit good deeds if we fall into sins & we ask Allah subhnawataa'ala to grant us good conduct with all people.

If you are benefited from this video, please share and like it so that others may benefit as well in sha Allah.

Wassalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaathuhu
