"And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah , you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful." (14:34)
"Your Lord has decreed : "The more you thank Me, the more I give you. But if you turn unappreciative, then My retribution is severe." (14:7)
All good things that come our way, and that we often take for granted, come from God. This message has been conveyed in the Quran. Consequently, one of the true means of expressing our worship of our Creator is through the acts of "Appreciation" and "Gratitude" to God. So be of those who thank Allah (SWT) if you want true happiness and blessings from Allah.
Whenever there's a calamity, it's either a punishment or a test. If one is on a straight path then the calamity is a test but if one is on the wrong path then it's a punishment. Similarly, whenever one receives blessings it may be a reward or a test when one is on a straight path."
